Winnie is indeed *named* after a bear who was Canadian and indeed named after the original hunters hometown, but that does *not* mean Winnie the pooh is Winnpeg the bear. No more than Henry the first is the same as Henry the eighth. Or Portland Oregon is the same culturally or socially as Portland Maine.

Mar 29, 2010 - While I still adore Disney's adaption, I have to say I highly admire that this Vinni Puh has enough sense to have manners when visiting someones house as a guest. Also, it is quite notable how he mimics Rabbit's proper manners to show us that he is actually capable of learning though examples.While Disney's adaption is sweet, I must give applause to Vinni Puh for being a better role model for children.
