Jul 9, 2010 - @Sundermize because its epic

dEdGrimley Says:

Jul 9, 2010 - @stairwaytoinfinite Most things don't translate well from the original. Britain has excellent TV, but the US is still the best. Soz, m8.

Tarn1968 Says:

Jul 10, 2010 - wow, this is so slow paced compared to the American version of Hell's kitchen

stairwaytoinfinite Says:

Jul 12, 2010 - @dEdGrimley In terms of legitimate drama, like The Wire, Treme etc. I will wholeheartedly agree with you. Hell, in terms of comedy like Arrested Development, The Office, I agree with you. But certainly when it comes to documentaries and "Reality TV" (certainly I wouldn't say the latter is anything to be proud of), i'd say that the BBC and Channel 4 (Fuck ITV :-P) are definitely up there.

dEdGrimley Says:

Jul 12, 2010 - @stairwaytoinfinite I'd certainly say that that's fair.

stairwaytoinfinite Says:

Jul 13, 2010 - @dEdGrimley I just find it really bizarre that on the whole in the US, Scripted drama is MORE believable than so called "Reality" TV! Hells Kitchen at times is just ridiculous!

dEdGrimley Says:

Jul 13, 2010 - @stairwaytoinfinite lol I don't know that our reality shows are ever "believable" these days. On Hell's Kitchen in particular, I really wonder what they're thinking when they nominate someone to go out, whether they actually think that Gordon hasn't already made up his mind long before that point.

stairwaytoinfinite Says:

Jul 13, 2010 - @dEdGrimley Would it be too outrageous to suggest that Ramsay's already decided his top 4 the second he brings 'em in? Don't anyone get confused, I freakin' LOVE Hells Kitchen...just seems like every season there's 3-4 legitimate chefs, and the rest are pretty much no-hopers.

stairwaytoinfinite Says:

Jul 13, 2010 - @Petronio39 To be fair, all the celebs are doing it for charity, and I can imagine have had no experience working on a line before. I get Ramsay's whole "getting perfection through pushing people to the extreme" but I think if he tried that here, he'd just crash and burn.

dEdGrimley Says:

Jul 13, 2010 - @stairwaytoinfinite lol Absolutely not, I'm not even sure that there's 4. I can usually guess who the final 2 will be by the 3rd episode or so. I'll be pretty shocked if I'm wrong about who wins the American one in its current season. Although I do feel like the producers had a talk with the person in question and told him to be a bigger dick to make himself more interesting. Which is much of how American reality TV works.

Jul 15, 2010 - Aww...he smiled!

Jul 17, 2010 - White >>> Ramsay

n66178 Says:

Jul 17, 2010 - The UK gave us central banking and...Gordon Ramsey. Gee, thanks.

Jul 19, 2010 - poverty

mynameistim01 Says:

Jul 20, 2010 - @n66178 They also gave us christopher nolan and the beatles. So pretty good track record.

LilSC19 Says:

Jul 22, 2010 - This version is shit

LilSC19 Says:

Jul 22, 2010 - @MMLVER24 Lol

stairwaytoinfinite Says:

Jul 25, 2010 - @n66178 and the entirety of your white population...you're welcome. Assuming you're white of course.

n66178 Says:

Jul 25, 2010 - @stairwaytoinfinite ...and not of French or Nordic descent either. They can keep their central bank, and their nanny state, thank you very much. It would take a thousand Beatles to make up for those gifts.

stairwaytoinfinite Says:

Jul 26, 2010 - @n66178 I would normally be aggravated, but as you're American, I just feel sorry for you.

sesshomaru123456789 Says:

Jul 27, 2010 - Gordon Ramsay is the goddamn Batman

bigpopparamma Says:

Jul 28, 2010 - The US version should have a celebrity edition.

n66178 Says:

Jul 28, 2010 - @stairwaytoinfinite Your personal attack clearly shows a lack of critical thinking on your part - but I don't feel sorry for you.

stairwaytoinfinite Says:

Jul 29, 2010 - @n66178 care bears...

stairwaytoinfinite Says:

Jul 29, 2010 - @n66178 and besides...who needs critical thinking? It's Youtube. Take your "critical thinking" to an arena containing more important subjects than a load of people who want to watch Kitchen Nightmares for free...
